Dr. Patrícia Rittes shares tips and procedures for maintaining a radiant face in all seasons

Whether it's summer or winter, luminous, healthy skin with a natural glow is one of people's greatest desires. There are many conditions that end up leaving our faces looking dull, dry and lifeless. However, with the advances in the dermatological sector in recent times, various solutions have been developed and improved to give the dermis back that natural glow. glow so longed for.
With this in mind, we invited dermatologist Dr. Patrícia Rittes to share the best tips and procedures for achieving healthy, glowing skin all year round.
What essential care should we take to ensure glowing, healthy skin?
“The essential precautions are sun protection and the use of a skincare specific to the person, depending on their skin type. A healthy diet, physical exercise, avoiding very high blood sugar levels and treatment with a dermatologist are also important for the face to become radiant and healthy.”
What are the main products and protocols you use in your clinic when it comes to healthy, glowing skin?
“We use numerous products and protocols. One we've used a lot is drug delivery, in which we make channels in the skin using microneedling, radiofrequency or laser. After opening these channels, we apply the substances that will actually enter and penetrate through these holes, acting on the cells and bringing better turgor, better color and better circulation.
One example is ILIKIA's Pluryal Refresh (hyaluronic acid with a high concentration, enhanced by the regenerating action of plant stem cells, salmon DNA and vitamins), which, being a very complete product, precisely meets these needs that cells have: to keep them hydrated, nourished and to hold off the free radicals produced that cause ageing. It comes in a very balanced formula, precisely to penetrate through this microneedling and bring the benefits of being able to stimulate this skin to become more and more healthy.”
Are there any contraindications to this procedure?
“The contraindications are exactly the same as for microneedling, which are that you have a wound on your skin, an infection or inflammation. In these cases, the procedure is not recommended.”
How is this procedure done and how soon can we see the results?
“This procedure is done in the office, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes and you can see the results from the very first session - but 3 to 4 are usually recommended. When it comes to the results, they are so noticeable that if you apply the product to one half of the patient's face and not the other, you can already see the difference, the skin responds very quickly.
Can this procedure be combined with other treatments?
“It can be associated with other treatments, such as the laser lifts, These are lasers that work on the inside of the skin to stimulate collagen and lift sagging skin. We associate it a lot with the treatment, because there's no point in treating sagging skin, lifting a face, but that skin isn't beautiful, illuminated, well cared for and doesn't look healthy, so we always combine it with other procedures.”
